I picked up the ebook reader I mentioned to you, so I've been starting to move through the jillion PDFs I have laying around. FF3 is a real classic. I played it when it first came out and have been getting tempted to go through it again. If you like fantasy with some strategy, you may enjoy Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Advance Wars is a solid straight strategy game that inspired <a href="http://weewar.com" rel="nofollow">WeeWar</a>. Another option is Puzzle Quest is great fun, it's Bejeweled combined with an RPG.
